Kaduna APC Rejects Baba-Ahmed’s Resignation

The Interim Management Committee of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, in Kaduna State,
on Monday rejected the resignation of its
chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.
Mr. Baba-Ahmed resigned on Sunday, citing the
failure of the national secretariat to resolve the
party’s crisis in the state.
The state Publicity Secretary of the party,
Mohammed Attahiru, said in Kaduna that even
though the party understood Mr. Baba-Ahmed’s
reasons for resigning, it had however rejected
it.
Mr. Attahiru said that the committee met and
appraised the situation and resolved to
recognise Mr. Baba-Ahmed as the authentic
state chairman.
“He was forced by circumstances beyond his
control to put up his resignation. The Interim
Management Committee of the strongest party
in Kaduna State, have now decided that we have
seen reason in everything stated in his letter,
but we are rejecting his resignation.
“We the members of the interim management
committee said no, we are only interested in
somebody that we know who can deliver us to
the promised land.
We are interested in somebody that cannot be
intimidated,” Mr. Attahiru said. He said that the
committee was making efforts to ensure that the
APC national headquarters addressed the
problems tearing the party apart in the state.
“We are doing everything possible to make the
national headquarters address the situation so
that the problem in Kaduna State is resolved
quickly and is not allowed to destroy other
branches in the North,” he said.
Mr. Attahiru urged the national secretariat of the
party to allow for the conduct of members
registration in the state.
