Lionel Messi has expressed his delight at
Barcelonas emotional league title success.
The Spanish giants lifted the Liga trophy on Saturday at Camp Nou on a day which marked
Xavis final league appearance of a 24-year stay with the club.
Barca threw away a two-goal lead after Messi struck twice against relegation-threatened Deportivo la Coruna to end the season with a draw, but the result did not dampen the title celebrations.
It was so great and emotional to celebrate winning La Liga title yesterday with our fans and family, Messi said on Facebook.
The Argentina international was joined by his young son Thiago on the field for the title celebrations.
Messi bagged 43 goals as Barca wrestled the championship back from Atletico Madrid, finishing second in the leagues scoring charts behind Real Madrids Cristiano Ronaldo, who hit 48.
Luis Enriques side have now set their sights on an historic treble, with a Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao to come on Saturday before next weeks Uefa Champions League final against Juventus.
